ABOUT
Training at pierStudios is well grounded in Stanislavski Method. The staff of pierStudios is cognizant that actors, directors, cinematographers and writers may well have different techniques they are drawing on. Therefore we bring to our technique classes the work of Lecoq, Grotowski, Gollier and our own specialized mask work. Physical theater and the actor’s physical awareness for film are very large components of our training program. PierStudios is training actors to be conversant in many techniques, across many media. Actors from pierStudios work in film, television, radio/voiceover, stage, circus, cabaret, musical theater and opera.
The staff of pierStudios, and biz kids ny, the youth division, are all working professionals. pierStudios teachers are auditioning and working. Our students learn to be flexible and adaptable as well. We have an excellent reputation within the profession. Managers, Agents, Casting Directors and directors know actors trained at pierStudios know what they are doing! They can be counted on to be well trained and highly professional in their work and their work ethic.

Peggy Lewis is the founder and director of pierStudios and biz kids ny.As a Classically trained actor from the National Theater School of Canada she brings to her work vast experience with the Masters! Lecoq, Grotowski, Michael McCowan, Patty Crean and many others influence the broad spectrum of physical theater she incorporates in her work. PeggyLewis spent five years on the road as a recording artist and cabaret performer.
She has worked as a director, including directing “Carmen in Love” performed in Mandarin. Her first love is teaching, which she has done for 30 years. Not to be outdone by acting, for 60 years. |
